Waves

My wave paintings explore the sea as something felt rather than simply seen. Each piece begins with the suggestion of water, movement and changing light, before being pushed towards abstraction, allowing forms to appear, disappear and remain deliberately unresolved.

Layers of paint, broken marks and areas of quiet are used to capture that moment when the sea feels both powerful and strangely still. Rather than describing a particular coastline, these paintings are about memory, atmosphere and our instinctive connection to open water.
